The seals who died?
The seals who died. Some people think the seals died because a stupid person whacked the seals with a baseball bat but some people also think that the seals died because they were scared of the people . I believe that the people who hit them were being cruel to animals and I hope they have learnt their lesson because the seals who died had their little pups growing inside them and they killed the pup's for this year and next year. We fanau should donate some money to the seals who were killed to death.

Waterworld
Other than the scary water i had enjoyed my time there and i hope we could go again the next weekend.
Reflecting on 2010
Looking back on 2010 some of my highlights have been playing and doing activities with the class. Another highlight was learning more about other topics and some weird and disgusting creatures as well. The topic i loved the most was the Mighty mariners because the topics were really interesting and cool. The thing i wanted to do most was swimming as well as playing water polo at lunchtimes, but we were upset it was only on Wednesdays. I think that I could improve on my writing as well as my concentration when learning about the topics. My best memories from 2010 were meeting new people and playing games with the class. The goal I have for next year is to get my work finished and to not be so shy.

Totara Springs
With enthusiasm and excitement to be going to a camp far away from home.We set off on the bus and had a very long way to go.As soon as we arrived we immediately went to our cabins to choose our beds.Nervously walking to a place called devotion's we all sat down, sang song and listened to stories. After that we had a chance to walk around and try to get along with everyone. Not long after that it was time for lunch so we all went to the cafeteria and had lots of fun.catching up with everyone.

First week of swimming
First week of Swimming
Eagerly waiting beside the pool for Chris, we were all chattering excitedly. Before long he came out and we got given life jackets that were freezing. As I squeezed into my damp clammy life jacket I shivered and shuddered because it was cold and clammy. I quickly adjusted my jacket and off we were into the pool.Chris is a helper from water safety NZ and is here to teach us about the safety way of using water . He will be taking us to the new pool every Wednesday for the rest of the term. While in the pool we were learning some activities and re caped what we learnt the week before . One of the activities we did was when Chris told us to huddle up in a big circle with the whole class. Then he ordered us to sing the national anthem and was spinning us around in circles “AHHHHHH “I screamed.
After a while I was fine, it was awesome. I can’t wait for swimming next week on Wednesday because we had a really great time.
Old dental clinic
As we had torn apart the weatherboards with a crowbar the dental clinic was slowly getting weaker and weaker. Then we had got it down in preparation for our new intermediate school.People were standing around in shock as they saw the dental clinic collapse to the ground in such a hurry.
While the dental clinic was destroyed by a ginormous digger it was teared into pieces and there was a lot of rubble left over. While waiting for it to be cleared we had a brand new dental clinic open for us.

Immersion Assembly
Immersion Assembly
Today the school got together for an immersion assembly. An immersion assembly is when the whole school goes to the hall on the first of term to discuss our new topic.Mr Burt was dressed up as a nasty mosquito and slithered acrossthe school hall. Mr Jacobson was a mega moth with gigantic wings,as well as hosting the assembly. The new topic is Little Critters.
Surprisingly the teachers had special items they had put together for us. The teachers were all split up into team 1, team 2, team 3, 4 and 5. First up was team 1 and they had an item that represented Incy Wincy Spider as well as little Miss Muffet . It was really good when they
were wiggling and jiggling.
Next up was team 2 they presented a video of the life cycle of butterflies. It was entertaining because although I love butterflies I don’t know anything about them and that clip all the
information I needed. That was my favourite part of the immersion assembly.
The funniest part of the immersion assembly was when Mrs Barks group went up team 3, for NZ's Next Top Little Critter. She was telling us she was a beautiful young ladybird and then Mr Barks shouted out “I love you” and she replied “ I don’t blame you” then we all started laughing.
I love immersion assembly and I can’t wait for the next one.

In the weekend
In the weekend my family and I went to the airport. The scary thing was we were going to the airport to say goodbye to my Nan and Pa because they were going to Samoa. When we got there my mum was really nervous because she and my Pa hadn't talked to each other for a really long time. This was because last time they went to Samoa my Mum and Dad came to the airport too late so we missed them, as they just departed. It was very upsetting.
But this time it was better because as you now know, they hadn't seen each other for a very long time. So this time when they had to depart, my Mum ran up to my Pa and gave him a great big hug and my family started crying.Christchurch Earthquake
Christchurch Earthquake
On Saturday morning at the time of 4 a.m. an earthquake struck Canterbury. Buildings were badly damaged and there was a lot of flooding happening caused by the movement of the ground. The size of the earthquake was around 7.1 and there was a lot of devastation throughout the whole of Christchurch. People were really surprised that this earthquake had hit this town because it was not expected by anyone.
People in Christchurch awoke with broken windows, damaged train tracks, funny looking fields and a huge mess left by the earthquake. A church in Christchurch was not straight as it was blown over by the earthquake. There were houses that were destroyed Parents in Christchurch were a bit tense because that Earthquake could spread a lot of diseases that can cause death to children.

Cross Country
ome a place and be a winner like everyone else but I was feeling tired and weary.
At the end I sprinted and still came a place but I never came first better luck next year I said.
On Wednesday the 25th of August we had our school cross country. While we were waiting for our, race the ten year old girls, we had to cheer with house bannerss that room 19 made to cheer the audience up.
As the race was just about to start we were all feeling nervous and I was also very cold and numb. Before we ran we had to wait for the big clap that went like this BANG!! That's when we had the chance to start. Inside I was feeling really scared and nervous because everyone was cheering and I screaming but then I ran. When I got around the corner I was extremely puffed and I couldn't catch up but I tried to and and I did, and when I did I all of a sudden I spewed.
I couldn't take it anymore so then I told the teacher and she said just walk, you'll eventually come a place and be a winner like everyone else. But I was feeling tired and weary.
