Rugby League

Rugby league My friends and I were chosen to demonstrate a backyard rugby league training, For teachers and parents learning to play this game so they can get a fear idea of what it is about and how you play it.

We got given instructions on what to do and independently we did it, and we actually succeeded.

We had tournaments and games and all sorts of stuff but the frase of the day was The more arguing the less game time the less arguing the more game time you can sort of get a fear idea of what I am talking about right. Miss Vaafusuaga was a very big help that time she had sunscreen and all sorts of things to keep us safe.

Our reward at the end was a Kooga T shirt and a subway sandwich, cookie and a pump bottle so thankyou miss v and god bless.

Camp Bentzon's Team Meanings

I was happy to see all the teams performing with such dignity and pride. The Teams were called Bentzon, Mansion,Kawau,Katz they all had a meaningful name to represent each building or piece of house, Bentzon represents the campsite, Mansion represents the house that governer Grey used to live in and infact it still stands as we speak , Kawau represents the Island and last but not least Katz represent the Fairy we took from Sandspit called the Catamaran. Now that you know what they repesent see if you can find out some more information on this link click on the photo to find out more I KNOW YOU WANT TOO.

My Highlight At Camp Bentzon.

My Highlight at camp bentzon was being able to face my fears at the concourse court ,abseiling wall and also the sailing. It was an awesome experience of nature on the island as well.

The fairy ride was awesome but the luggage carrying not so much, The cabins were great the food was super great but the hike not so great. I had an awesome time together with my team Kawau and I wish them all the very best for the future.

Peter and Erin were our hosts at Kawau Island while we were staying there, they were also our instructors for sailing and kayaking as they were both used as our activities for the amount of days we stayed there. We had to be quiet as there were people living there like tourists and inspectors and so on...
Well what I m trying to say is that I enjoyed my time at camp and I would be privileged to go back as a helper when I am older

Film Festival

I had an amazing day at the manaiakalani film festival with the juniors that I was given to look after. They were a bit nervous on the bus but when we arrived at the cinema they were just so hard to keep still.

As we sat comfortably on our seats we knew were were ready and set to go when we had stopped talking and were eager to watch it. There were some amazing movies presented by our school
in fact all of the movies were really addicting ton watch over and over again, I loved watching the movies and I hope we go back next year.

In The Weekend

In the weekend me and my family were making scones for my grandparents. As we were all fighting to roll the scones I was screaming so I had to sit out but I thought it was fear enough since I was the eldest child there. When the scones were ready I was trying to be sneaky to be the first to eat it but you can guess what happened I was snapped and banned from my net book for the whole weekend If you have a net book you can guess how I felt? Lonely and Upset because it was like another hand for me but I got over it after all.

Well we arrived at my grandparents house with the scones so we ate and we had a chat about how schools going and family stuff, I was relived that I had the opportunity to see my grandparents because shorty they will be leaving to live in Samoa permantly.

Where Am I?

As I sit there, alone, I can see the twinkling stars smiling down at me. Their smile is warm and comforting, as there is no one here to talk to. I can also feel the cold air pulling me away from everyone that I know, and as I look into the distance, I can just make out the shape of a very bright planet, Earth.I was attacked by a very large Alien in a way i that i could never forget but then i realised that they were not real in reality.

"Ahhhhhh get away get away" as I have awaken from my sleep I all I see in sight is a ugly monster in my face looking at me strangely at me . I was very deprest and very angry because of it.

As I start to stand up I fell dizzy and find that the alien is being kind to me by guiding me around his planet. I started to feel like a bully because I was snobbing and being mean for nothing. So then I walk up to the alien and say " Im Sorry do you want to be friends" and he replied yes then we lived happily ever after.

Immersion Assembly Term 4

On Tuesday we had a Immersion assembly that was related to our new topic OUTTA THIS WORLD I thought it was a great topic because now we can find out different things about our solar system.

It was a hillirous morning as the teachers were performing items for us but my highlight out of them all had to be Mr Jacobsen pretending to be a space pilot I thought it was a creative of him to act a part while doing some technical things as well.

This Term I think would be the best because we can discover new thingswe can discover new things that might come handy in the future.

How To Be A Successful Aussie Rules Player!!

Listen closely this it what it takes to be a successful Aussie Rules Player. First of all you need to be fit! Secondly you need to be a good sport who knows how to collaborate well with others. Last but not least you need to know the basics like how to hand pass the ball as well as knowing how to drop punt a ball your probly feeling really confused right now so lets go over the basics.

When passing the ball you abosoulutly need to hand pass if it is not that way then it will be the other teams ball. For your team to score a point you need to run and bounce the ball at the same time then when close to goal as possible kick the ball threw the posts and the ref will decide if it was a goal or not. If it is not a goal then hard luck just try again until you succeed it thats how you be a great Aussie Rules Player.

The Tour Like No Other

In 1981 the springboks tour of NZ was like no other. The protesters were determined to stop South Africa from having the tour. But then I found out that South Africa was invited to New Zealand by the government for the tour and I was surprised. Rugby fans all over New Zealand filled stadiums with people cheering for the team. Both countries were all passionate about rugby and had many memorable matches between these two countries. New Zealand said that if the Springboks continued the tour then they were agreeing with apartheid, which means apartness. New Zealand's Prime Minster back then was Robert Muldoon and he strongly believed that politics should stay well away from sport and thousands of other kiwis agreed as well.

In My weekend

In the weekend there were a lot of emotional days because there were a lot of sad stuff. For example your grandparents leaving to different countries and singing happy birthday to your cousin who is also leaving to different country. I felt really stink because they had to go and they are sadly missed by everyone and I really wanted to go and soon they are going to be staying overseas permanently

That's why I am always trying my best to spend as much time as possible but now that they are gone it wastes my time that I'm trying to spend with them. I love my grandparents and they will be missed.

Rugby World Cup Opening

It was an incredible event as it was hosted by our home country New Zealand. All tourists around New Zealand we all gathering together for this event as the rugby world cup was about to start. It was a great honour for New Zealand to host it. A legendary Rugby player arrived at the world cup as a guest of honour to act a part in the opening ceremony his name was Jonah Lomu. It was amazing how the graphics were high quality and how they were standing out threw out the whole ceremony I was really impressed, since New Zealand has never hosted the rugby world cup in a very long time. It was really a pleasure to host it because it gives the All Blacks a good chance of winning considering all the fans are cheering for them.

My favourite part during the ceremony was watching the boy dream and really having the thought of what he wanted to be when he grows up.I loved watching the ceremony because it was so eye catching for us kids while watching it. People all around the world watched this ceremony that was held in our country New Zealand. As I was growing up I thought if you took part in the world cup you are dumb but as I grew older I started to realise that it is all to representing not only us but god as well.

I loved the ceremony so for people who watched it and helped organise it thank you for making a huge eye catching ceremony we loved it and Go The All Blacks!!!!

Astronauts

The word astronaut came from the two latin sailor words that mean star and sailor. Astronauts are sailors among the stars as they travel through space, it is almost like travelling on a boat but different. They are explorers of outer space. I always thought that their job was easy. As I was growing up I thought that they would just have to jump into a rocket and fly but as I grew older I started to realise how hard their job is, and trust me it is really complicated! People like taking risks to complete the things that they like to do, but they believe that God's angels will come and protect them.

Ireland

Irish saving is a different kind of way that we save here, in fact the way Irish people save there is very famous and popular. The trick was one person would discover an idea then tell the world and become popular but they share there ideas equally. The Capital of Ireland is Dublin and is a very popular City. The English name for the city is delivered from the Irish name Dubh Linn meaning the black pool.

The population of Ireland is 4,450,446. WOW that's a lot of people for a small country. The prime minister of Ireland is Enda Kenny. He is the person who persuades people to vote for things that he wants them to vote for. This is all the information I have for you but if you want to learn more go to Qwiki.com.

Well Done 7s Team

I was amazed to see a group of boys arrive back with medals. They were so respectful to the other schools and took pride in all the games they had won. When I heard this exciting news I jumped up and down and swirled around like nothing ese. Then I was asked to say a few words for a movie and I told them that I was proud of them and it was a huge honour for our school to win the rugby sevens and to be the champions of New Zealand. So I would like to say Go Pt England, You Rock!!!!

My Weekend

In the weekend me and my family of five went to the beach on a sunny afternoon. It was a hilarious time that we spent together. We walked around the sand, played volleyball, touch and rugby. It was really fun and I bet if you were there you would of loved it too. We went to a familiar beach called Mission Bay which is very close to St Heliers, where my teacher lives. We were only there for an hour and a half so we made the most of the time that we were given. I Loved it so much and wished we were there longer.

Sebatian Chabal

This is a latest piece of art that I have made and I have based my art on a person named Sebastian Chabal. He plays for a team named France and gets teased by the name of Jesus. He is a very scary and very bulky rugby player and isn't afraid of anyone. SO CHECK IT OUT!!

My Letter to Unicef

Hello I would like to ask a favour I think it would be a awesome idea that everyone in New Zealand has to donate a dollar because I think it is important that the people who need our help get it so I am putting this letter onto my Blog Ill try my best to persuade all my viewers to convince New Zealand to pay a dollar and everyone who arrives, since there is going to be a lot of people coming to the rugby world cup.

Thankyou for your time!!

Room 16 On The News

Guess what? My class Room 16 was on One News last night at 6.00 pm. We were on the news because they were ecstatic and fascinated by our work with NETBOOKS!! The purpose of us being on the news was to convince the government to pay for schools who can't afford netbooks for their learning. I think the government spends too much money for statues to make our country look good when there are real human beings out in the world who need money for their education.

I felt really nervous when we were getting filmed but sad when I found out that the article was about a school who cant afford netbooks in Auckland. Take a look at the link and find out for yourself.

My Teacher

My teacher this year is Mr Somerville and he is the best teacher ever. He is always there when I need him in class and he always shares his wonderful ideas with us before he does them. I love my teacher because he is the first ever teacher I've been close to and I think it is just that he is so nice. I think he is awesome because he encourages us to do things that we haven't done before and he is also very cool because he is very passionate about our sports and learning. He is always interested in all that we do and we love him. I have been thinking that it is going to be really emotional when we leave his class at the end of this year but he is going to put us into some great hands of another teacher next year. I love it how that we have our netbooks now so that we can contact Mr Somerville in any way as long as he still has his computer. Thanks Mr Somerville!

My Besties

My Besties are Lola, and Dante. They are there when I am sad or lonely and they stick up for me when people are bullying me. I appreciate them for caring for me because that's what besties are for! I do the same for them when they have problems but it is normal to have ups and downs in our friendships, but we truley believe we are besties forever.

Life Education Caravan

On Monday the 8th of August we were all quietly waiting for a wonderful teacher named Lynn. We were all eager to go into the caravan. Our class all had to take off their shoes and put them under the caravan so they didn't get wet. Our whole class got into an order going from tallest to shortest.

Anxiously waiting outside the caravan, Lynn finally came out to greet us. After a few minutes Lynn invited us into the caravan.

When we came in we had a quick conversation with Harold about his homework. He was describing and talking to us about how hard his homework was for him and he asked us if we could help him. We had a quick think to ourselves and we replied “Sure Harold”. He slowly drifted away back to his house. We completed task 1, 2 and 3 for him. These included studying things about our bodies like, where the blood travels in your body and what the different parts do. For example, the small intestines and your large intestines. After studying about those things it was time to go and we missed Harold but we knew we were going to see him again at the end of the week.

Immersion Assembly

While sitting in our immersion assembly I was eager to see what topic we were going to study this term. I was excited to see that we are learning about different countries around the world, and what the flags represent in there traditional culture. But we mostly studied countries in the Rugby World Cup. I was so amazed that we were learning about countries because at my old school we had studied a lot about countries and what their flags meant. Excitedly running back to class we were pumped up to learn about our topic call 'Keep Your Eye on the Ball!'

My Holiday

On a fine sunny morning me and my family of five had a stroll to the park. It turned out to be a very good idea since it was very sunny day. While we were strolling to the park there were some loud barking dogs that had woken up from their sleep. While they were barking you could hear the owner screaming and yelling for the dogs to go back to sleep. The neighbour sounded like a cross old woman. Excitedly we ran straight to the skate park with our skateboards really quickly. People had been really generous and had shared and taught me and my brother some skills for skateboarding, and it really helped. After a really hot day at the park we skated back home and fall on our beds fast asleep immediately!

After a really long sleep we woke for something to eat. Raiding all the cupboards for food all we found were some crackers to snack on. Watching T.V there was an awesome documentary about a king Python having a battle against a king Alligator as they had a face off. The python managed to eat half of the alligator head. Once it hit the stomach it exploded like gunge and the alligator eventually came back to life. I couldn't believe my eyes, for a second I thought it was almost impossible! After I watched that documentary I slowly drifted off to the kitchen to do my chores.

How Would we live without knowing about numbers?

In schools boys and girls study Mathematics counting, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing are a part of what we learn.

Schools around Auckland study Mathematics because it pays a very important part in our lives such as how live without even knowing what numbers were, how would we do such things as figure time ,build houses or even keep a score of a game without even knowing about numbers. Not only is it important everyone can learn it together.

MOTAT Trip

“ WOW” I gasped at the beautiful olden day art displays up on the walls. I think Mr Somerville was annoyed by my nagging and telling him to go here and there. I was also impressed and excited that we got to discover the first person to build a plane. His name was Sir Richard Nicholson he was old and was born 18th of July 1850 that was my first highlight. My second highlight was the tactile dome. I screamed at Lola as she was clinging on to me like a koala. Finally I rushed to the exit in the dark and at the end I met up with Dillon, Waata and Max and they went first. I can also imagine how frustrated that was for me arguing about who’s going to slide down first. But what a surprise it was Waata and I was last. After a long day at MOTAT we hopped onto the bus and then we were on our way back to school.

Tuesday, June 28, 2011

Something brushed up against mine and Mary Vs foot and our surprise turned to horror as we looked down and saw a Cobra snake tilting its head left and right towards us! It was freaky! As it was staring at us we were completely disgusted by its green saliva coming out of humongous mouth while breathing at the same time. Suddenly we heard a voice screaming from a near by place and the cobra turned in distraction. We then sprinted away trying to escape ahhhh ssssssssssssssssssssssss. It was hissing while chasing that was almost impossible for a snake we were amazed and scared at the same time because it was still slithering threw the forest and then more started to join in.

After running I was totally exhausted and huffing and puffing it started to make me sick. The snake had disappeared so I had time to go out and find some dinner for me to eat as I went off and found some leaves,,and then took it home for him to eat shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I said to myself scared to death ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss “who's there “ sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss “who's there Im warning you” as the snake creep ed up in the tree it jumped down and swallowed us up one by one until he happy again from that day on no one went into the forest because they just as scared as we were

PARTLY CLOUDY

Today we watched a movie that was called Partly Cloudy. It was about a Stork and a cloud, together they were making derliveries and his magic would always make dangerous things. The movie was set up high in the sky with other clouds and other storks.

The story starts off with all the storks delivering babies to there right ful owners all over the neighber hood. After they had derlivered the stork was getting hurt because of all the dangerous babies that the grey cloud had created for him to deliver. Then the Stork decided to leave, it made grey cloud feel really sad and grumpy then it made him cry. But really the stork wasnt leaving him he was leaving to find some armer for him self to use for his deliveries.
It made grey cloud feel really happy and they stayed best friends forever.

I rated the story with a 10 out of 10 because it had a lot of detail and it was really funny.

My Favourite Rugby League Player

Hey do you have a favorite rugby league player? I do my favorite player is Darren Lockyer he is the captain of the Brisbane Broncos, Kangaroos , and Queensland. He is my favorite player because
he is a great sportsman and he supports his team mates when they are down and need help. One day I want to go and see him again I have only met him twice after every game at Mt Smart he is always hiding about in the bus and once he came out to take a photo with me and then he had to go it was sad to see him leave but he had to go. I went to Brisbane to see Brisbane broncos and Storms have a face off in the Grand Final and Happily we WON!! The crowd jumping and screaming Broncos ,Broncos one half were saying that and the other were saying Storms ,storms
after the game we stayed at our aunties for the night. Now that Darren Lockyer is retiring I think it is a good idea because now he has a son that needs him for his care but Darren Lockyer will always be a star in my heart no matter what. Me and Te Rina Love you forever go Queensland

Our Visitor From USA

Mrs Rogers is a beautiful young lady with a really cool act sent from USA she was a visitor but now she is part of the Pt England Family she is in our class for three days but at our school for nine. Volcano In Iceland

On Sunday in Iceland there was a powerful volcano that was flinging ash everywhere and steam miles into the air. Its exploded a thick layer of gray smoke in an eruption much more powerful than last years. People in Iceland reacted in a bad way because they were scared and felt unsafe in a country that they lived in. I feel sorry for their country now that they have to cancel things that they were going to do because of it.

* MY PAPER TOWER

Last week on Thursday afternoon we had a go at making a tower out of paper. Our class had to find two or more people to work with. My first option was Lola and my second was Mary v. We created a tower with 8 pieces of thin paper, 1 meter of sellotape, 1 pair of scissors and 1 glue stick. It was very tiring at first but we got threw it. Lola was laughing and cracking jokes like a comedian. She made us laugh really loud. It made our tower weaker and weaker but made our laugh stronger and stronger. The feet of our tower was shaped like a triangle which is called a tripod. A tripod makes the object stand or hold more strongly.

HELP CHRISTCHURCH!!!

It would be awesome if you could help the people of Christchurch! Here are some awesome ideas:
  • Sponsor a person in Christchurch and if you can, donate some food and clothes to them.
  • You could also donate some blankets, pillows and water proof mats.
  • We can also make a difference by printing a sheet and take it around to collect some money and send it to them. Then you could write a get well card and send it to all of them in Christchurch
  • We could raise some money so we can buy some t shirts that say donation for Christchurch please help.
  • My last idea was to ask some of our classmates to go around the school collecting the money for our dress up day

My Basic Facts

This is my basic facts for this week.

MY FAVOURITE SINGER

Hey do you have a favourite singer? I do. My favourite singers are Nicky Minaj and Lateeya. They are my favourite singers because their songs inspire me when I am sad and lonely. But my favourite singers basically have nothing in common only that they are both famous. Nicky Minaj is a female rapper and Lateeya writes song that are based on what she thinks other people should know. One day I want to be like Nicky Minaj and Lateeya, I also want to have the best song out and to be the best female rapper.

My Holiday in Brisbane

During my holidays I was extremely excited for my first week in Brisbane. As soon as we arrived I shouted out hello Brisbane, then my mum told me to be quiet.

Before we left I was in a lot of tears at the airport because the day before I left I was going to stop to Lola’s house but we ran out of time. I was also sad because my Brother and Dad were staying and my Mum and I were going.

We had an awesome time. We went to see the waterfalls and they were humongous. People were taking a lot of pictures, I think they are tourists, but then we received a call from my Dad. He told us that they were eating KFC but then we said we were having the best food out. Ha ha, jokes my Dad said. I really enjoyed it there and next time I go ill get something for everyone!

My Embaresing moment

All of a sudden I see this checked black and white ball come flying towards my face, like the wind howling from the wharf . I almost felt injured and wasn't going to play any more but something was telling me to carry on. So I did and you can guess what happened. I got hit in my face again and my nose started to bleed. But later on I found out that they kicked the ball on purpose to make me angry and I was furious and did not know what to do.

Once I felt calm I was still angry at Etta, my Dads sister, she was laughing and I didn't like it so I made up a plan. I said, “Come play soccer Etta.” “Yes,” she replied. Then I said dad come play with etta and try to keep her entertained “okay” said dad.I need to go toilet Ill be back. During that time I went to get a bowl filled it up with water and then I ran outside and tipped it on ettas head aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa she screamed her head off like a chicken. Revenge is good

Camp

While waiting two days for our camp it was finally time to pack my bags for a great start to our Year 5 and 6 School camp. When waiting in the hall we were extremely excited as we were heading to YMCA swimming pools when usually we go there last it was a big change.

When we arrived to the swimming pools people started getting a bit hypo because they were waiting in the hall for a very long time and it was hot and stuffy, so I guess they just wanted to jump in a cold pool in the sun even though it was burning like fire . The YMCA pools are totally different from Wairewa because Wairewa has a lot of things like obstacles and huge amount of swimming pools. YMCA pools have a huge hydro slides and sprinklers as well as a massive pool stuck together.

I really loved this years school camp because I was a leader that was taking charge of a group called SUPER CHARGES and they were awesome, they also respected the other leader Max who was chosen to lead SUPER CHARGES as well.
I cant wait for the next camp that is coming up.

All the staff when they see us they said oooh what lovely girls and thats when we collect all the cups and plates and say have a awesome day teachers. Then they respon well thankyou.

So I would like to say a huge thankyou to Mrs Flavele

Japans Earthquake and Tsunami

Just recently, Japan has had a very hard time and is struggling to face the earthquake that has happened as well as the terrifying Tsunami.

People in Japan and Tokyo scattered everywhere like little ants because they were scared, scared that they would get badly damaged because of it . The earthquake hit Japan at 2.45 pm in the afternoon. It was an 8.9 earthquake and they were extremely paranoid that they would die.

I love you Japan and I am so sorry that a lot of people died but I hope you are okay God Bless.
